Tine Thing Helseth has established herself as one of the leading trumpet soloists of our time. With a soulful, clear and distinctive sound, the world is Tine’s stage. Having only just turned 30, she has already performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras.

She released her debut album in 2007, for which she was the first classical artist ever to be nominated for a Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy Awards). Her second album My Heart is Ever Present was released in 2009 and sold to gold in only three weeks. In 2012, the album Storyteller was released on the EMI Classics label. The following year saw her fourth album release, Tine, for which she received a Classic Brit Award. The same year, Tine performed Matthias Pintscher’s Chute d’Étoiles at BBC Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall.

In 2017, Tine celebrated her turning 30 with a birthday concert at Oslo’s Opera House and a new album release – Never Going Back. This is something completely different and new; her solo debut as singer-songwriter.

Tine’s broad taste in music is reflected in various ensembles and projects formed by her, including tenThing – a ten-piece all-female brass ensemble – and Tine Thing Helseth Quintet, a jazz/tango fusion band with a repertoire spanning from progressive rock to Joni Mitchell. In 2013 she launched her own festival Tine@Munch in Oslo’s Munch Museum with musical guests like Leif Ove Andsnes, Nicola Benedetti, Kathryn Stott and Truls Mørk.

Tine is a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music. She can also regularly be heard on Norwegian radio station NRK Classic as programme host. Tine is an experienced TV presenter, having hosted TV programmes like NRK’s talent show Virtuos.
