Ingrid Bjørnov
Ingrid Bjørnov
Ingrid Bjørnov has lived numerous musical lives, entertaining Norway since 1980; Primarily as one half of the award-winning pop duo Dollie de Luxe, whose stage production Which Witch was set up in London’s West End. Later as a composer, musical director and music arranger for both stage and TV productions, up until her debut as solo artist at the turn of the century.
In 2017 – four solo shows and six Comedy Awards later – Ingrid premiered her fifth production Steinway to Heaven. The same year saw her third album release, Jugekors & Sørgerender.
Ingrid Bjørnov plays classical music backwards, gargles O mio babbino caro in its original key (!) and argues that Abba’s Benny Andersson and Edvard Grieg are one and the same person.
Her career includes hugely successful collaborations with guitar legend Øystein Sunde and radio star Kari Slaatsveen. She can be heard on a weekly basis in NRK’s popular radio show Herreavdelingen alongside music gurus Finn Bjelke and Yan Friis. Moreover, she is ‘High Protector’ of Oslo Fagottkor, ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages International and has founded the charity Dagsverk for Down, a campaign to raise awareness of Down Syndrome and celebrate diversity.
Ingrid is a cherished comedian, writer and presenter. But first and foremost, she displays an enormous musical virtuosity that completely mesmerises her audience.
